<OscarL_>
"As a result, we didn't ship a new version of experimental drivers with BeOS 5, knowing that we would be able to provide much better drivers based on the new implementation shortly after BeOS 5 shipped."
<OscarL_>
too bad Be Inc. didn't lasted long enough to fulfill that promise.

In the Deskbar systray you see the ProcessControler (with animated bars)
<poopnugget142>
Oh yeah
<poopnugget142>
I've tried clicking on it and going to quit an application that doesn't seem to work
<Begasus[m]>
right click on that and navigate to "threads and ... " then click on WebPositive
<poopnugget142>
oh
<poopnugget142>
oh that did it thank you!

there's also the "vulkan grip" but I always forget that one :)

vulkan grip?

<Begasus[m]>

<poopnugget142>
the logs of the chat? and only vision is running?

the chat logs yes, and yes, only when Vision is running

I dont know if it is just me but Tracker is crashing hrev58859 when I right click a file and select something and hit Enter. For example Copy, Get Info, Edit name. Somebody on a relatively new Nightly can check if it works so I can make a bug report?

No, the same problem with USB mouse.

dodo75 everywhere in the system?
<dodo75>
yes.. it is quite obvious.. Start Input app
<dodo75>
preferences/Input select mouse...
<dodo75>
my right mouse button is mapped to '1' same as left mouse button.. this is new
<pol>
Are you using laptop's mouse ?
<dodo75>
no usb mouse (old fashion cable)
<dodo75>
pol I just started up my laptop ... and mouse is working correct in hrev58867... I will upgrade to latest nightly to see if I can reproduce the issue on laptop
<dodo75>
no issue there...
<dodo75>
pol sorry I just found out that you can remap mouse button in Input preferences... only SBS from my side.. I remap mouse on desktop and now my right mouse button works as expected again...

Why MAME emulator is not offered in 32-bit HaikuDepot?

<Begasus[m]>
yeah pol OOM issue there
<pol>
Shouldn't the last version that compiled be avilable instead of none at all?

one would need to know what version that would be?

I assumed it existed in the past and only get dropped as the new versions were unable to compile.

fancy2209[m]: Spacebar allows you to get to the boot menu, but that's before the splash screen. Splash screen will still be set up before starting the kernel
<PulkoMandy>
As far as I know the only way to disable it is changing the bootloader code to not set up the splash screen

You want to disable the splash screen because you want to output to serial interface? Could be this file /boot/home/config/settings/kernel/drivers/kernel

I don't know if "debug build" is useful at that point, what I usually do is uncomment the TRACE_xxx define at the top of relevant files (I guess src/system/kernel/arch/ppc/arch_vm.cpp may be a good place to start?)

It is trivial to lockup menu on BeOS by hovering over a submenu item and using arrow keys: https://0x0.st/830-.png
<Skipp_OSX>
Haiku doesn't crash but the nav also doesn't work right. It should ignore the mouse position when you use arrow keys.

and then at the allocate_early code for PPC
<waddlesplash>
that is where you are likely to find issues

If you refer to the help command not being helpful, it's because that command is loaded only much later in the boot process. I think pressing tab at the prompt should show the available commands and we have an article about the kernel debugger somewhere on the website
