I managed to install the 32bit anyboot image in bios mode on an old Dell Latitude! But so far I only managed to boot in safe mode. What could/should be my next step to troubleshoot (or maybe report) the issue?

<PulkoMandy>
what are your symptoms in normal mode? Did you try to select just some of the safe mode options (such as failsafe graphics) instead of full safe mode?
<swiftbanana[m]>
In normal mode, Haiku manages to display the blue desktop background, the moise pointer, and then freeze. The mouse pointer does not move in this state, but it is unclear if that is a mouse issue, or a « the whole OS is having a panic attack » issue
<Begasus[m]>
good here phschafft (was afk for a bit) :)
<PulkoMandy>
if it was just the mouse you would still see desktop icons and the deskbar
<swiftbanana[m]>
I tried to check all checkable options but safe mode at the same, just to see (in the hope that I could isolate a single parameter by dichotomy), it seemed to have triggered the kernel debugger mode but I could not go further than that
<swiftbanana[m]>
*at the same time
<PulkoMandy>
I would try failsafe graphics, disabling ACPI and/or disabling SMP first, as it gets quite far in the boot process. I don't remember what the general "safe mode" does exactly, but it's not all of the other options

Thank you, I’ll try that when I get back from work

eMMC is usually chips soldered directly to the motherboard, mostly found in smartphones and low cost machines so far
<Begasus[m]>
right, shows up as nvme also, was just wondering :)

Thank you. Disk is empty so far so there would be no data loss.

can removing usb stick with installation iso make it better ?

<jezek2>
u: try holding the power button for a longer time (several seconds), removing usb stick will most likely not do anything
<u>
jezek2: thank you it has solved the problem :)

nice :-) Warning: POLICY WARNING: "/packaging/ncnn/lib/libncnn.so.1" needs library "libSPIRV.so.14", but the package doesn't seem to declare that as a requirement

'lo Begasus[m]!
<OscarL>
here just for a couple of minutes before taking a nap :-). Was on "read-only" mode the last days... got this note for you:
<OscarL>
"Let Begasus know that 'xournalpp_gtk4_x86-1.2.7~dev-3' seems to need a rev-bump (after he rev-bumped 'xcb-proto' for the 'lixml2' change)."

OK, seems asio doesn't require boost for it's build (and only headers included so shouldn't rely on boost also) :)

was wondering if I can push all of SDL into it's own thread to be separate from the main thread.

but it seems, as most of those frameworks it requires to be the main loop of the main thread.

does a BWindow need to be shown on screen in order to receive BMessages?
<janking>
thanks
<swiftbanana[m]>
This is interesting
<swiftbanana[m]>
I managed to go to the desktop with failsafe graphics, but after a bit of interactions i get "PANIC: Fatal exception "NMI Interrupt" occurred! Error code: Bx0" and Haiku goes into Kernel Debugging
janking has quit [Ping timeout: 480 seconds]
<waddlesplash>
swiftbanana[m]: are you on nightlies or beta?
<waddlesplash>
also NMI interrupts are sometimes continuable
<swiftbanana[m]>
But, in failsafe graphics mode, the screen resolution is obviously incorrect (everything is bigger and blurier), while, when I am in classic safe mode, the screen resolution is the pixel-perfect one
