nephele only explanation for string view's not working but text view are is that the string view's text mime type has to be B_MIME_TYPE instead of B_SIMPLE_DATA.
<Skipp_OSX>
Which labels should be copiable (BAlert, Network, AboutSys)? The answer is all of them. A bunch more labels still need need support added if we can ever agree on how to do it.
<Skipp_OSX>
ok BButton might be going to far...

...but before I try getting that merged, I'm posting it here.
<|cos|>
I've learned that it's quite an anti-pattern to check for every operating system under the sun, and that one ought to check for features instead.
<|cos|>
Yet that is how they do it in that crate, and I'm not sure it's the right battle to take.

Unless e.g. we know CLOEXEC should work in Haiku and that the fix is on the wrong crate?
<|cos|>
The crate in question has fairly good platform coverage in CI. They use both GitHub actions for platforms targetted by cross-rs, and Cirrus CI for the BSD:s.

<Begasus[m]>
looks simple enough, does it error without?
<|cos|>
Could one realistically try adding upstreamable CI support for Haiku? I'm not sure where to start such an attempt.
<Begasus[m]>
korli added something for it, not sure where to look atm though :)
<|cos|>
Yeah, it fails with COEXEC not being known. I didn't dig into whether it is lacking in Haiku's libc or the Rust FFI is incomplete.
<Begasus[m]>
sounds like a familiar error, so guessing it's a good patch for it
<|cos|>
It seems like /Haiku/system/develop/headers/posix/fcntl.h defines a few CLOEXEC:s, but maybe not for sockets? I want to make sure I patch the right crate.

<Begasus[m]>
"npm install --user smol" works ok also?
<Begasus[m]>
not sure it's the correct one though :)
<|cos|>
Don't think they are related. (: That seems to be a static site generator written in javascript, while smol-rs is an async runtime for rust.

<Begasus[m]>
right, was javascript
<|cos|>
...and SOCK_CLOEXEC indeed is quite different from O_CLOEXEC or FD_CLOEXEC.
<|cos|>
So I guess the patch is for the correct crate. Now it's just the question of whether CI could be feasible to add.

Is there some configuration I should change in icedove? Or do you recommend another email client in haiku?

kallisti5: still something fishy on 32bit, build for gst-plugins-base failed, on the 32bit VM (after building gstreamer which it can't find latest version in the depot), the build went fine
<cocobean>
Although, gst_plugins_libav recipe's cmake way may work on the buildbot x86 without issue.
<cocobean>
->upgrade package gst_libav_x86-1.24.12-1 to 1.26.3-1 from local file
<cocobean>
No issues. (may need to fix libegl >=1.1.0, if it appears)

I keep meaning to ask... I installed Haiku on a machine and for some reason after it boots the mouse doesn't work (worked during install). If I unplug and plug the mouse back in (USB mouse) then it works.
