now that needs to be deployed there ;)

Begasus[m]: do you think I can merge it? I think the fix is correct. (in the end it was simpler than I thought)
<Begasus[m]>
haven't really checked any arch packages lately on 32bit, so I didn't really have a look there jmairboeck , you are the master there ;)
<Begasus[m]>
and closing down in a bit, so won't be able to test this, did you run into the same issue when building local? or is it just a builder thing?
<jmairboeck>
you can test it locally too, e.g. with something like `hp themes_x86` on 32 bit

<jmairboeck>
before the fix, it would try to build it and fail
<jmairboeck>
I used themes as a test because it is very simple and has both a meaningful main package and subpackages
* |cos|
fails to find any CI job mentioning that test though. Would anyone be better than me at reading GitHub Action logs be up for pointing me at where to find it?
<Habbie>
|cos|, what action did you take locally to run that test?
<Habbie>
note that it does not really test running anything on haiku

Habbie: Ah. Didn't realize there was a cross section which differed from test. Thanks!

Well, if Haiku comes with a chat client pre-configured to auto-join this channel, it must be encouraged that I break the silence.

Hi!

<Habbie>
stph, hello! welcome!
<Habbie>
stph, we'd love to hear your first thoughts
<stph>
Oh, my first thoughts are a few years old. They've developed a lot.
<stph>
Actually I think my first thought was maybe 10 years ago "Damn, it doesn't boot and I have no idea what to try. Well, it was worth a try."
<stph>
But it runs quite well now on my current computer. Not on either of my laptops though.
<stph>
I keept peeking in to Haiku twice or thrice over the years. And today I thought: I think I did nothing today on Arch that I haven't seen working on Haiku before. So A switched. For today.
<Habbie>
right
<Habbie>
i tried that a few years ago after realising almost everything non-work i do on my Debian could be done on Haiku too
<Habbie>
i did port a few programs for that purpose
<stph>
nice!
<Habbie>
let's hope it works out for you this round
<Habbie>
any idea why the laptops don't work?
<stph>
No, I haven't looked into it. I don't remember for main one. The small one just stops at the IC symbol. At the boot screen witht the logo about the middle one.
<Habbie>
right
<Habbie>
if you are interested in debugging that, several people in here would be happy to
<Habbie>
(including me, although i don't know as much as some others, and my online presence is spotty this week)
<stph>
Thanks fpr the link! I'll read that tomorrow.

Skipp_OSX: Isn't it `diskimage register` job?
<Skipp_OSX>
diskimage register only registers the disk in DiskSetup, it doesn't mount it.

see referenced ticket #15759 for more details

This might be silly to say out loud but: Wow, there are so many more applications in the repo than I remember. So many I know from Linux. Must be because of GTK.
<stph>
Had I known that earlier, I would have made a serious attempt to switch earlier. I wonder if it will still feel so fast when I use ported apps.
