erysdren: I noticed that encoding a conditional relative jump takes the same amount of bits as encoding an uncondtional relative jump.

erysdren: I'm not sure if I should keep the uncoditional in. maybe it makes more sense to always encode the unconditional one as a conditional one.

a bit code size vs. runtime speed (as the conditional clearly needs more time to decode)

<phschafft>
so, the question is what the next step would be.
<phschafft>
I'm wondering about something some website where you can enter the code on the left and see the result on the right.
<phschafft>
something like that.
<erysdren>
that'd be fun, just watch for runaway loops and other malicious code :P
<phschafft>
also how it is about access for you to the code itself. I could just set the repo to be readable for you. other than that it might be on CPAN the next few hours.
<phschafft>
exactly that is what to consider.
<phschafft>
I mean even if I limit it to like one CPU second, you can still hammer the machine.
<phschafft>
also is a thrid view of interest? a hexdump of the binary?
<phschafft>
or maybe even more, like one with extra statistics (file size, opcode count, ...)?
<phschafft>
or maybe a view that shows sections as such?
<phschafft>
what about save/store/load/restore featues? so you can download your code?
<phschafft>
so many thoughts. (and so little time!)
<phschafft>
or maybe those are independent steps? like translator with all the knobs for that, and another page for running it, and they are just connected with some button?
<erysdren>
i'd say don't get carried away with the page stuff as opposed to SIRTX itself
<erysdren>
idk tho
<erysdren>
:P

I use the 'try it' option of the Installer. In Network preferences it says ssh is on but oviously it was not. I reactivate it but it denies connection. Is something missing maybe the keygen tool at first boot) ?
