02:11 <clover[m]> rooms have been upgrading on matrix to version 12 lately so just curious. we might need to do that here too, not sure who the matrix admins are for this room
<f_>
fyi you cannot upgrade matrix portals
<f_>
there's no admin

alexVinarskis[m]: v5 does not turn the LED on
<steev>
v3 did
<steev>
alexVinarskis[m]: i *think* it's because the first hunk calls it privacy-led but second uses the name privacy?
<steev>
no, it's not that
<alexVinarskis[m]>
Did you pick a dependency patch from Hans? Link in cover letter
<steev>
i had not, sorry, i did see it mentioned. will retest
<alexVinarskis[m]>
The name of node shouldn't matter, its called by phandle (privacy_led) and identified as camera indicator by string in 'led-names', which is now 'privacy'. Hans's patch changes v4l2 part from 'privacy-led' to 'privacy'.
<steev>
alexVinarskis[m]: wait, i don't see the dependency? those are (afaictt)( applied
<anonymix007[m]>
I just have a bit newer versions, but that shouldn't matter. One could easily rewrite these definitions, the most useful information is how these are used and implemented.
<travmurav[m]>
I didn't look into leaked headers but from looking at the decompilation I had an impression that it wants to read from uefi config files, which only have adsp lite on x13s for example, so booting full adsp won't be possible (or at least obvoius)
<anonymix007[m]>
travmurav: I would consider these the same.
<anonymix007[m]>
Also, there seems to be a way to load an image from a FAT partition, surely that'll do
<steev>
alexVinarskis[m]: testing with that applied
<travmurav[m]>
well I guess I'd personally avoid any leaked sources
<f_>
it's a grey area
<minecrell>
Implementing the ELF loading isn’t that hard really, no need for any leaks to do that

<ektor5>
vado a beach
<minecrell>
It’s basically the same as for implementing remoteproc boot directly in EL2, I’m happy to throw away my thing if someone has something better, but I kinda doubt you can get around the UEFI crashes when restarting the ADSP with that
<minecrell>
You need to load the firmware early but perform the actual restart of the ADSP when most of UEFI is shutdown
<anonymix007[m]>
Well, the EFI PIL protocol is a bit more than just ELF loading. It's more along the lines of "provide firmware path and subsys ID and EFI will do the necessary TZ SMC trickery". I guess if you already have something working, there's no point in using a different solution unless you want to see if the crashes would go away.
<steev>
alexVinarskis[m]: yes, with hans' 2025 patch, v5 is working :)
<alexVinarskis[m]>
Thanks for confirming!
<steev>
sent a t-b :)
<minecrell>
anonymix007[m]: Could be, but yeah I would rather do some more fun coding than getting anywhere close to leaked stuff
