Hi, you may know that the ASUS S15 reboot when wakeup from sleep - which is annoying - someone peak into it ?
<SpieringsAE>
have not noticed such a thing myself
<xeliteCJF>
I running now 6.17-rc2 with a patch to load the firmwarm. But since I have my ASUS running linux this happen all the time. It goes sleep the and the led is breathing. Hit a key and have the reboot triggered
<SpieringsAE>
hmm can't really seem to get mine to sleep properly at all? Never really do that
<xeliteCJF>
Other thing I notice, the battery management which comes alive with load the adsp,, firmware shows that my battery heath is 89% .. 11% lost, on a 2 month old laptop.. I guess something isn,t right
<SpieringsAE>
at least the led on the side is just constantly on
<xeliteCJF>
I add the patch for the eit8987 available send the event to the EC on suspend and wakeup ot switch off the Backlight.
<SpieringsAE>
ah okay, wait which patch?
<SpieringsAE>
I've not had much response from the EC myself
<xeliteCJF>
let me see if I can show you the link from the lore archive.
<xeliteCJF>
i2c5:
<xeliteCJF>
+ /* EC IT8987 @ 0x76 */
<xeliteCJF>
+ embedded-controller@76 {
<xeliteCJF>
+ reg = <0x76>;
<xeliteCJF>
+ };
<xeliteCJF>
+ compatible = "qcom,x1e-it8987-ec";
<xeliteCJF>
needs this in the dts,
<SpieringsAE>
huh, the patch by macc24?
<SpieringsAE>
must admit I only tried her test tool, not the actual patch
<mynery[m]>
is this a package i could pin or something like that?
<mynery[m]>
also, this isn't limited to chromium based browsers for me. ghostty straigt up doesn't render at all and a sway fork i use fails to start

<robclark>
electron things use chromium, so they are effected by the same bug
<mynery[m]>
that's fair, but that doesn't explain sway
<mynery[m]>
i might check out if this also happens on vanilla sway
<robclark>
idk about sway but I think there are other sway users in these parts
<Treibholz[m]>
sway works fine her on Debian Trixie with 6.16+x13s

<Treibholz[m]>
even with the 16k pagesize, no issues - I refuse to use chromium though...

<steev>
mynery[m]: dunno about sway there, but it works fine here (kali so ~ debian testing ) - just need to do the force_gl_vendor trick in /usr/share/drirc.d/00-mesa-defaults.conf - i believe robclark had a merge request in mesa for adding it, but its far from complete since so many apps can use it
<steev>
or you can just try `export force_gl_vendor=totallynotfreedreno` in your environment

if anyone can figure out a more complete list of electron apps (I need the comm value, which is usually the executable name), I can update the MR
