robclark: vivaldi (vivaldi-bin is the binary)
<steev>
i believe
<steev>
let me double check
<steev>
yeah, vivaldi-bin (they include vivaldi-bin, vivaldi-stable, and vivaldi, but only vivaldi-bin needs to be in the .conf)

steev: ok, I've updated the MR.. appreciated t-b's/etc
<steev>
Iโm packing for bsides/defcon but if I donโt forget when Iโm done I will
<HdkR>
Oh jeez, pack water :P

<robclark>
doesn't steam ui use webview? I wonder it it hits this angle br0rkness at some point?
<HdkR>
Probably, but it's likely a pretty old build of CEF
<robclark>
hmm, could be
<HdkR>
chrome version 126.0.6478.183, Angle version 2.1.23105
<icecream95>
robclark: I wonder if it would be easier to get Chromium changed to not use client attributes with ANGLE... but if I remember right there was some deliberate change to start/keep doing that, so idk
<robclark>
ppl started hitting this w/ 138, so I guess steam has a while
<robclark>
icecream95: at this point I'm willing to override gl vendor with angleisbroken for all the things ;-)
<robclark>
since who knows how long it takes fixes to trickle into distros
<robclark>
if there is a way to just disable angle for chrome/ium and related things.. lmk
<robclark>
since the last thing the world needs is something that turns gl into broken gl

hi all
<icecream95>
robclark: there is --use-angle=gles which at least turns gl into not broken gles

<robclark>
hmm.. but not a driconf controllable thing?
<icecream95>
Just stop supporting desktop GL at all? :)
<robclark>
heh, sigh..

<icecream95>
Aha, force_compat_profile=true works
<icecream95>
robclark: ...since then ANGLE passes client attributes directly to Mesa
<robclark>
hmm, I guess I could do that.. but then chrome doesn't get vendor=angleisbroken stats ;-)

robclark: motionmark score is a bit higher with force_gl_vendor, so maybe stay with that
<robclark>
wfm
<robclark>
now we have benchmarks to back up the MR ;-)

Heh, seems like apitrace has a similar bug to the ANGLE one, so replaying a trace made with force_compat_profile=true often crashes
