yeah, low power audio is a big thing for mobile SoCs and x1e inherited that dna.. there seems to also be some usb offload to adsp for audio IIUC? I assume adsp does sensor hub type things on mobile (where you don't want to have to power up the arm cores) and stuff like that (not entirely sure about that but the AO domain seems to be about doing things at low power w/out having to wake the HLOS cores)
<jdb[m]>
It seems I have to press the power button twice usually to start my X13s when fully shutdown, has anyone seen this behavior too?

sgerhold: the SPI stuff indeed is MEDIA_HARDDRIVE_DP, could all of VenHw(7CCE9C94-983F-4D0A-8143-B6C05545B223) just be ignored and should it cover QCOM stuff aside from just X1E as well?
<JensGlathe[m]>
Hmm ok, yes powering it on from really cold can be odd, with all that LED blinkiness. If it didn't turn on I pressed again, yeah
<jdb[m]>
Thanks Jens, that matches my experience, it's weird and a bit annoying

deathmist: I have the same GUID on the X1E CRD and the X13s, so that could very well be true. I don't know if *other vendors* use the same GUID though, but I'd hope not ๐

deathmist: well I had the same problem with GRUB already (aside from the weird idea to write to random partitions)
<sgerhold>
and systemd-boot generally does not scan partitions, it just reads from the ESP or XBOOTLDR

for GRUB it depends on your GRUB configuration, if it looks for file system labels

longptr: basically in my mpv config file I have hwdec=v4l2m2m-copy. When playing a video press "i" to confirm it is in use, you will see it in the "Video" line.

this is with kernel 6.16.0. thought it was curious, not sure its related to my issue

some are builtin, no idea how this gets handled, really

yeah maybe it got directly integrated with the kernel for 6.16

All, anyone by chance have schematics for the Thinkpad X13s? I'm asking because I'd like to wire-in 2xUSB-A ports on the right side of the laptop. I've opened it up and there's enough physical space, was hoping to find out if by chance somewhere on the MB there's USB2.0 I can "borrow".
<longptr>
jdb[m]: I've seen some weird things with the power on on the X13s as well, including needing to hit the power button twice. I have a USB-C power meter and I notice it does weird things with the USB-PD as well on turn off / turn on

I'd expect SC8280XP to be at a more working unpatched mainline state than X1E which I've already booted myself on the Vivobook
