kallisti5: The haiku.hpkg for hrev58816 x86_64 on the repository server seems broken,getting that checksum error once again.Can you please have a look?
<Begasus[m]>
ohwell .... grabbing wine-10.6-1-x86_64.hpkg and moving it to /Opslag/haikuports/packages/wine-10.6-1-x86_64.hpkg :)
<jessicah>
well it's been a while, but pushed my first fix to gerrit in a long, long time :)
<Begasus[m]>
whohoo jessicah ! +1
<Begasus[m]>
as thought, wine doesn't start here :P
<jessicah>
haha... ah, I need to try out wine 10 (on linux), see if I can finally run a UE4 game that hasn't worked so far
<Begasus[m]>
got it build, I'll leave the rest for the real devs :P
<jessicah>
haha, is it a big project to build?
<Begasus[m]>
takes a while yes
<Begasus[m]>
package build is about 156MB
<Begasus[m]>
I'll push the changes from here later to codeberg first I guess

Working on updating wine?
<nipos>
I'm currently trying to investigate the redrawing issue. I have already found a commit that I think may be related to it. As soon as I can update my system again, I'll try if it works with that commit reverted.
<jessicah>
Which redrawing issue?
<nipos>
Some people complain on the forum that the currrent Wine port doesn't update its window contents unless you drag another window over it or drag it out of the screen and back
<nipos>
I must admit I personally never tried Wine and don't have it installed as I prefer native software,but many people want it so I decided I'll have a look at fixing it
<Begasus[m]>
not sure if it's worth anything, but there it is :)
<Begasus[m]>
nipos: did you do the check on current version in the depot? (eg 7.9)
<Begasus[m]>
source package/recipe currently in the depot is still from 7.1
<nipos>
Yes,just installed it and I can reproduce the issue.Wine apps run fine,but show an empty window unless you move it out of the screen and back
<nipos>
People in the forum say the bug appeared around June 2023,I wonder why nobody cared for two years,but now I'm digging through the Git log from back then
<Begasus[m]>
right, just installed the one from the depot and already first window showed the issue
<jessicah>
OscarL: oh, nice! I didn't actually get around to playing any audio yet :p
<nephele>
> <nipos> People in the forum say the bug appeared around June 2023,I wonder why nobody cared for two years,but now I'm digging through the Git log from back then
<nephele>
The wine port back then could basically only do demos... not much usefull software, so i doubt many people complained
<nephele>
maybe with the PE conversion now down in win10, and thus 32bit software (in theory) launcheable on 64bit Haiku it would gain some usefullness
<jmairboeck>
OscarL: is there an easier way to get the "predictable URL" for wheels from pypi? I got hit with https://github.com/pypi/warehouse/issues/5535 for cson and had to look at the json API to find that python-version bit (3.7 in this case).
<OscarL>
Hello jmairboeck! Will take a look at the PR next.
<jmairboeck>
yes, I've seen that, but for wheels it seems to be more complicated
<OscarL>
but in this case, installing from source or from .whl doens't seems to be much of a difference (at first glance, haven't read the recipes yet).
<jmairboeck>
anyway, good night!
<OscarL>
I would go with the tarballs, is what I'm trying to say.
<OscarL>
later!
