<not_aiyion>
Hey there, I'm currently failing to build OpenWrt 24.10 at 2bcc3163. I'm running into issues with Perl being unable to locate File/Glob.pm. Can someone point me in the right direction, where the perbase-File package should have been installed and how I verify it wasn't?
<robimarko>
I assume its missing on your host
<not_aiyion>
Oh, that might very well be the case. I wrongly assumed perl was built in the process and not a dependency?
<not_aiyion>
is there a way to inform the build process, where my perl modules are installed? It looks like it only checked relative paths in the buildtree? (@INC entries checked: lib . dist/Exporter/lib ./../lib/perl5/site_perl/5.40.0/x86_64-linux ./../lib/perl5/site_perl/5.40.0 ./../lib/perl5/5.40.0/x86_64-linux ./../lib/perl5/5.40.0)

<dwfreed>
not_aiyion: that sounds like it's running perl built by openwrt, not system-provided perl
<dwfreed>
system-provided perl has the correct paths baked in, and you have to try really hard to remove them (and openwrt wouldn't)
<not_aiyion>
I expect the problem to be a me problem. I've been running nix for the past few days. It's been kicking me all week that it's not FHS.
<not_aiyion>
Anyway, I found a way to add perlPackage.FileFinder explicitly build is currently runng, we'll se if that resolves my issue.
<not_aiyion>
jep, issue remains, still not finding it.
<not_aiyion>
So currently I'm seing to possibilities:
<not_aiyion>
Either this search path @INC is too short, is lacking my system perl and robimarko is right that that's supposed to come from the system, which would match the build-system link I mentioned earlier.
<not_aiyion>
The second on would be that the path is alright, it's supposed to only take the openwrt-perl into account and the FileFinder module which ties with File::Glob has just silently failed to build in a previous step.
<not_aiyion>
I'm unsure though how to evaluate its completeness on my defective system.

<not_aiyion>
looking at the two lines above the error, openwrt/staging_dir/hostpkg/usr/bin/perl is symlinked to miniperl. This works.
<not_aiyion>
This means the relative paths are then openwrt/staging_dir/hostpkg/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.40.0/x86_64-linux/ which is empty.
<not_aiyion>
Can someone tell me when the directory hostpkg is filled? The files do not apear to be softlinks, but actual files and indeed the host perl files as their linked against a glibc from the nix-store which doesn't exist in openwrt.
<not_aiyion>
So both options identified earlier appear to be wrong and a mix of them is the truth: The path is alright, it should reference host files, but doesn't.
<not_aiyion>
I'll clean build once more, hoping I just missed a copy earlier.

hi, is anyone aware of an RTL8264(not B) driver? i have an rtl9303 8x 10G copper switch ready with the exception of networking. the generic driver sorta works but 1g is broken for example. https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/pull/17137
