I'm currently compiling Armbian 6.16-rc4 with PCIe patches contributed by a user on Discord/radxa (Marvin). I'm finishing compiling and uploading the logs, although unfortunately I don't have any M2 2230 devices to test...

the second link has the log of the board.

The error on eth1 disappears after a board reboot.

I am really getting tired of all this nonsense: Signed-off-by: John Doe <john.doe@somewhere.on.planet> If people don't do it upstream, they are not better than Allwinner that everyone is complaining about

This is the default in the Armbian patch compiler. It can be changed and is actually recommended. But many of us newbies don't take the time or don't know how to change it.
<juanesf91>
Regarding sending patches upstream, I am not prepared for that at least and I do it as a help/reference. I greatly appreciate all the work you've done, and you've taught me so much.
<juanesf91>
My first two boards were Khadas Vim 1 (Amlogic S905x) and BananaPi M2 Ultra (Allwinner R40), which was unusable (regarding peripherals/programs) with BSP 3.10 while I followed the patches that enabled each of the board's peripherals in mainline until it was completely stable (I recently burned the PMIC).
<juanesf91>
Patches are easily implemented in Armbian, but many didn't pass the revisions and remained stuck. For example, Allwinner R40 has the audio codec and HDMI audio enabled in Armbian.

And finally, excuse the poor translation, I am a Spanish speaker.
<apritzel>
that's my point: just putting some patches in some Armbian patch stack doesn't really help, it needs to be seen and discussed upstream, that's the only way to get proper support
<apritzel>
and no need to excuse for any language issues (your English is absolutely fine!), I think the minority here are native speakers, and regardless of the fluency level I think people get it
<juanesf91>
I actually love following your conversations about how features are implemented, and it helps me understand, but I'm not really qualified to get into technical conversations. Sorry for the inconvenience.
<apritzel>
my rant was not about you, it was about the general practice to pile unreviewed patches up somewhere, and then not even properly attribute them
<apritzel>
people can upstream patches from other people, if they don't want to do this for whatever reason, but they need to be properly signed off
