<Lightsword> hmm, something weird, the h6 AC200 is supported in mainline right? https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/v6.16-rc1/drivers/net/ethernet/stmicro/stmmac/dwmac-sun8i.c#L146-L148 so why doesn't it appear to need the i2c based initialization sequence that the H616 does?

<apritzel> Lightsword: no, it's not supported, this comment just means that even though the H6 has an internal PHY, it's very different from the H3 one (which is supported)

<apritzel> the H3 PHY is "truly internal" (on the same die), and doesn't need much further support, apart from one reset and clock gate

<Halamix2> Hi, I've tried to follow the new device howto to add a H313-based TV box, but I'm stuck at the "Retrieving device information" step. I was able to boot into FEL mode, sunxi-fel version returns "AWUSBFEX soc=00001823(H616) 00000001 ver=0001 44 08 scratchpad=00027e00 00000000 00000000", but the two following read commands returns data that cannot be correctly parsed by sunxi-bootinfo and bin2fex
<Halamix2> are the addresses the same for all SoCs and I'm doing smething wrong, or is H313 jsut different?
<Halamix2> hmm, the data at 0x43000000 0x20000 is different after every reboot
<Halamix2> on full reboot, with the UART unplug the data read is all 0xFF

<apritzel> Halamix2: ah yeah, those instructions are very outdated, this doesn't apply anymore to "newer" SoCs
<apritzel> Halamix2: if you have an update image for your device, try to use https://github.com/apritzel/sunxi-fw to learn the DRAM parameters
