Still trying to use old A series MPU for a teeny weeny linuxy, and available speed for DRAMC is quite hard to find
<bunting>
Original reason behind choosing between either A20 or A64 was because they have most features available(for which I should say thanks here)
<bunting>
But those 2 seems pretty extinct in terms of new production. Wish I could find one that's active in production so there's a way to recreate the system...
<bunting>
Are they really out of production or it's just that vendors I check have low stock, can't find older products in the allwinner official website as legacy page, so I'm confused

bunting: I cannot say if those SoCs are still actually produced, or if there is just a lot of "old new stock" around.
<apritzel>
bunting: what features do you need, exactly? We are catching up on support for the newer SoCs, so you might be happy with some of them as well?

Well, so I bought a Teclast T60Ai tablet, with an Allwinner A733. If anyone wants me to try stuff on it, let me know! I will try to unlock the bootloader this evening and see if it's possible or needed at all

iscle: Cool. .I actually ordered one of those myself a few days ago, although not so much to do dev work on, I just needed a new tablet.
<apritzel>
BroderTuck: not a good idea :-( The P50AI I got in December seems like a really bad tablet
<apritzel>
iscle: what are you hoping for with this experiment? I got mine into FEL mode, but it's using secure mode, so it's not getting very far. I have some ideas how to fix that, it's hopefully the same problem as on my A133 tablet
<iscle>
apritzel: I also got a P50AI which I returned, the screen was awful! But the screen in the T60Ai is much better, although the performance is the same, of course. I'm sure that with some work it can be improved, maybe even with a GSI
<iscle>
apritzel: I wanted to experiment with this new SoC, especially because I find the display out very appealing. If we can get Ubuntu or any other linux distro runinng on it, it will be a good option to connect to TVs or projectors in the go
<apritzel>
yeah, the screen was awfully low res, and modern Android doesn't seem to be able to cope with that anymore. But I also found the performance disappointing, and there were quite some lags (because tap and sound, for instance)
<apritzel>
iscle: that's my point: it's a long way out. We don't know much about this SoC, and there is no user manual yet, which makes this very hard to upstream
<iscle>
Usually Teclast tablets don't tend to perform very well with the stock firmware, at least in my experience, but with a GSI they improve significantly. I'm sure with a mainline kernel it will be much better
<apritzel>
I have this on my TODO list, but as usual busy with more pressing issues like A523 and A133 upstreaming
<BroderTuck>
Speaking of which, I saw that the Emac0 serier has been accepted.
<iscle>
Let's hope the user manual gets leaked soon... For now I have only seen some leaked code on github from other soc's bsps
<apritzel>
yeah, github code search produces some hits for sun60iw2, but a lot of what I found (clock and pinctrl) was for FPGA implementations, so not sure how much of that applies to the actual ASIC version

Did anyone ever find something about the T509? A user manual, ideally? I found a second EMAC in the A133, and two more pin banks (PortI with 15 pins and PortJ with 20 pins)
<apritzel>
I guess it's the same relationship as between H616 and T507? So same die, but different sets of pins connected on the package?

apritzel: just checked the log. I was looking
<bunting>
I was looking for a SoC that has GPU and RGB output support.
