hello
<kuligs2>
while im too lazy to reg account on gitlab, can i ask maybe here? Yesterday i upgraded my arch packages (all) and then i noticed that on mpv on every video i get visual glitches like noticable white rectangular lines. not as thin as line but thin rectangulars at random. they pop in and out all over some part of the screen. On vlc same videos, no problem. Could this be related to the current mesa? Previously i had mesa from 28.05.2025, dont remember
<kuligs2>
im not at home pc, just throwing this out, maybe someones has ideas what could this be related to
<mupuf>
kuligs2: can be, but this is really the wrong channel for this. What GPU are you using?
<kuligs2>
7900xtx
<kuligs2>
even on boot, when there is the scrollin text in tty that shows whats loading and stuff, there are visual glitches with white lines
<kuligs2>
im not super smart, but i tried to downgrade mesa via pacman - bad idea.. turns out it wont downgrade deps.. and so after downgrade and reboot -> black screen with white rectangle blinking
<kuligs2>
good thing i had another pc to ask interwebs and chroot into my root and update to latest mesa..
<kuligs2>
my guess i just have to wait for the next mesa update.. they push updates once a week or something..
<kode54>
can't reproduce on 7700xt
<kode54>
also running arch, got new mesa early because I'm using the testing repos
<kode54>
and this was better discussed in a mesa channel, perhaps even #radeon specifically

mupuf: hey did you ever see this? maybe it’d be good to reuse in ci-tron so it’s more cloud-compatible
<mupuf>
daniels: yes, I did see it and considered using it... but the gpu side was not powerful enough for our needs
<mupuf>
and even the platform side was lacking a little. It is clearly not meant to run on SBCs.
<mupuf>
but I did recognize that we had the same general needs and appreciated it

<mupuf>
another thing that would be difficult with k8s' node discovery: being able to select different architectures at boot time like we can on the rpi. Or being able to unbind the gpus we don't want to expose for testing
<mupuf>
And not sure how much they rely on the kernel drivers to get information. This was explicit goal of mine not to depend on anything more than device enumeration... since you want to be able to check if the hardware is the one you expected regardless of how broken your gpu driver is :D
<daniels>
olivial: please file an MR with git mv .ci-farms{,-disabled}/vmware (and nothing else in this MR), smash it straight through to Marge, and cc @blu
<olivial>
alright :)
<daniels>
(the disable procedure is documented in the CI docs, and who to ping when you need to in .gitlab-ci/farm-rules.yml - please feel free to add this as an FAQ in the docs!)

ah, yeah that table is very useful. The bit I saw in the docs was just that I should ask in this channel and ping you or emma

karolherbst thanks. dwfreed apparently I was only shown 'you've logged in using password, to push or pull using https use Personal access tokens' or something
