emersion pq swick[m]: a question related to libdisplay-info: patches to make it ignore a few sanity checks are not welcome, right? there are lots of EDID's with e.g. bad checksum in the extension blocks, but with valid content. I was wondering if an "unsafe" option would be alright to add, or if the design is strict to make it only work with sane
<leandrohrb>
EDID's, which is totally understandable tbh
<emersion>
we coul turn it into an error but still try to parse, i suppose
<emersion>
could*
<emersion>
leandrohrb: btw is there a reason why all of the MRs are stacked on top of each other?
<edfloreshz>
hello! when can we expect a new release containing ext-background-effect? i would like to add it to the `wayland-protocols` crate

emersion: !190 depends on that commit that adds support for VSDB, but !191 depends on this same commit and I've stacked it on top of !190, my bad
<leandrohrb>
when that commit lands I'll fix !191

leandrohrb: do you have an opinion wrt the debate in !144?
<leandrohrb>
emersion: tbh I'm neutral about the two options; I'd avoid exposing the OUI at first, and if some client ever comes with an use case for that we'd add the getter

but I really don't mind if you'd rather add the getter now

<misyl>
Is there a normalization function for xkb_keysyms? For eg. Meta_L + Super_L to be the same, and Tab and Tab_Iso_L to be the same?
<vyivel>
that's not really what i would call normalization
<misyl>
What would you call the concept of equating Tab with Tab then?
