I think there is something wrong with bison in openwrt. Ive been having issues with it with selinux which depends on it (requires a make dirclean to make it "work" and now I am hitting an issue with bison and gettext as well: https://dpaste.org/x53XX

Nick[m]: it was re #11650. Sadly this bug doesn't seem to get any attention (besides reports from affected people), *sigh*. Still looking but I know next to nothing about this area of the kernel

I'm building openwrt with the standard buildenvironment and using squashfs. How can I change permissions of the readonly filesystem before it's compressed? like "chmod 0600 /"

mrfrenzy: package/base-files/Makefile shows a chmod 600 of /etc/shadow after it's installed; if there's particular files in a particular pkg, that might be the way to do it
<dwfreed>
you should only specify that if you don't specify PKG_VERSION
<Nick[m]>
dwfreed: thanks!
<dwfreed>
dunno if that'll fix the problem, but that was something I saw
<robimarko>
Nah, PKG_SOURCE_DATE is not the issue
<robimarko>
Most likely codeload returns an error
<robimarko>
And its not yet present on the OpenWrt mirror
<robimarko>
Hm, I am looking at outdated commit
<robimarko>
It should checkout the git after trying OpenWrt mirror firstr

offopic question: does anyone here happen to know someone who works at 1&1 (or Versatel) in Germany? we're looking to ask for some network sponsorship for our Freifunk community mesh project and would love a contact. thanks!

some of these .apk dl cache file timestamps are waaaaay into the future... 2975189-02-12 05:44:16 can't imagine that's right? other timestamps are proper in 2025
