wonders how long will it last considering matrix foundation was planning to kill the bridge months ago
<steev>
at least they're pricing based on what you can afford!
<steev>
i wonder if i sent them a bank statement if they'd give it to me for free

anthony25: thanks! Can you share hash of your HEAD? i was under impression that sensor did probe in latest state of Bryan's branch.
<alexVinarskis[m]>
Its also interesting that sensor probe fails that late into the boot and not in the first few seconds. Are there any pmic/spmi/vreg related errors by chance?
<erebion>
WHat firmware is this trying to load on the X13s?

Hi all, I got to the point where I successfully dual-boot my Lenovo x13s with Win11 and Ubuntu Plucky. My only issue currently, I can't get mobile internet to work. Is there any documentation or hints where I could find more info on how to make LTE/4G/5G work?
<kalebris>
when I was getting mine to work, the problem was that the modem tried to use the esim slot instead of the traditional one
<kalebris>
and needed to make modemmanager to switch it
<Kobold[m]>
ok, let me check....
<kalebris>
something along the lines of `mmcli -m 0 --set-primary-sim-slot 1` but the slots and card numbers -m 0 and slot 1 might be different, need to investigate which is which
<Kobold[m]>
doing so now, thank you for the hint. But generally speaking the modem works ?
<sgerhold>
Also make sure that you have the fcc-unlock stuff
<kalebris>
yeah, as sgerhold said you might have to do some fcc-unlock stuff as well
<sgerhold>
It may or may not help to try mobile internet on Windows first. It updates the modem firmware only if you make use of the modem. Could also make things worse though :D
<Kobold[m]>
mobile internet works fine on windows.
<Kobold[m]>
if it makes things worse, well let's see
<sgerhold>
It's probably the fcc-unlock (+ maybe the SIM selection then, although I'd expect the primary sim slot is persisted from Windows)
<Kobold[m]>
reading up on fcc-ulock in modemmanager now
<kalebris>
if the source file exists and the pic id matches this should work I think: `ln -sf /usr/share/ModemManager/fcc-unlock.available.d/105b /etc/ModemManager/fcc-unlock.d/105b\:e0c3`
<sgerhold>
just make sure you understand the potential safety implications mentioned on that webpage

travmurav[m]: they found "funding", as in EMS is paying the matrix foundation to run/build the bridge. which is funny because they're basically the same thing
<travmurav[m]>
fun, I thought they wanted to cut it specifically because they wanted to get off of ems funding them but nice to hear that this room doesn't get split any time soon, I think there are quite a few more active people from matrix lately :D
<Kobold[m]>
Thank you all for your support, mobile internet works great after the fcc-unlock procedure
<Kobold[m]>
you just made my day 😉

I don't know if it's new, I haven't tried this dock before. (Despite the error it does connect, and sometimes light up two monitors, but the image is mirrored to both, and the laptop sees only one display.)
<deathmist>
you'll need two docks/dongles to use multiple monitors until there's DP MST support in drm/msm from what I gathered here
<kuruczgy[m]>
Hm yeah it seems I also have this exact one...
<kuruczgy[m]>
And do you not get these errors on dmesg?
<deathmist>
I haven't plugged two monitors into mine so no, I presume that's part of it or just some other configs I don't have enabled
<kuruczgy[m]>
I get the errors with zero monitors plugged into the dock too
<deathmist>
maybe the tree I'm running has some additional patches, I'm not keeping track of anything for now since there's too much moving parts. just using a known working kernel and building it on updates
<kuruczgy[m]>
Hm... if you have time, could you post your dmesg and the exact kernel git commit you are using? Maybe it's bisection time.
<kuruczgy[m]>
Also your cat /proc/config.gz | gunzip, kernel config difference could also be it
<deathmist>
it's just tip of the ubuntu-qcom-x1e-6.15rc tree I linked, it's based on Johan's branch still as well so if building and using that one fixes it you can easily find it there
<kuruczgy[m]>
Ok tip right now is 6310e83e32ed5328538d133e6747ea5ff7ac315b
<kuruczgy[m]>
(Just noting it down, I won't have time to look at it today...)
<kuruczgy[m]>
I would still be interested in your kernel log though when connecting the dock, to see where it differs
