I have anti-aliasing disabled in fontconfig and text is crystal sharp as desired at x1 and x2 scaling, but becomes blurry at any non-integer scaling like x1.5.
<shalok>
I always assumed that this was just a wlroots issue (labwc) but I just tried kwin and the same issue occurs...
<shalok>
Is there any way to remedy this?
<shalok>
Actually one thing I didn't check was restarting kwin after setting the scaling factor. I'll try that now, brb.

<shalok>
Nope, restarting plasma after changing the scaling didn't help: Text is still blurry.
<shalok>
The text is rendered using the scaled DPI right? i.e. if anti-aliasing is turned off then text should be sharp at any scaling?
<shalok>
Hmm, actually integer scaling is only sharp for 1, 2, 3 and 4. At 5 times scaling and above, even integer scaling factors result in blurry text.

pq, sorry, i was on leave last week
<emersion>
pq, we could have a new release. the last one was not so long ago, but numbers are cheap. alternatively we could publish the website on commit rather than on release
<ifreund>
I've been using it without issue for quite a while now, and it's been reviewed/approved by 3 people already

emersion, publishing the website on commit to main might be nice. Any new API would be documented to be available in a specific version, so it shouldn't confuse.
