<DaRock> well I've spent about a day working on oem unlocking and apparently I have to wait a week until I can do so - who knows why? Some bean counter thought it was a good idea
<DaRock> meanwhile... do I actually need to root the device to install postmarketos?
<DaRock> and lk2nd is only buildable as arm, so does that mean I can't use aarch64?

<NekoCWD[m]> <DaRock> "and lk2nd is only buildable as..." <- You can use aarch64 with lk2nd
<NekoCWD[m]> You don't need rooted phone for it. You need linux device with sudo/doas available to build postmarketos using pmbootstrap and phone with unlocked bootloader
<DaRock> so the oem unlock then?
<DaRock> adb pull complains about lacking permissions though?
<Danct12[m]> DaRock: yeah, you only need a unlocked bootloader to load a custom boot image
<Danct12[m]> the "custom boot image" is lk2nd in this case
<DaRock> ok thx

<barni2000[m]> I hav fixed my redmi go, so if i can port lk2nd what is not conflicting with rolex than i can make a port for it soon
<Andr[m]> Hi Val Packett, are you still working on upstreaming support for DW9718S?
<Danct12[m]> <Andr[m]> "Hi Val Packett, are you still..." <- she's working on way too many devices
<Danct12[m]> xD
<Danct12[m]> the latest one (of this week) is a snapdragon laptop
<Andr[m]> No pressure. I'm considering reviving my patch set and wanted to avoid conflicts, like last time https://lore.kernel.org/all/20250211-zippy-pygmy-firefly-88a3c7@krzk-bin/ So if there will be some upstream work on dw9718s, maybe it could be delayed

<barni2000[m]> how about send both of them together?
<Andr[m]> It looks like the changes for dw9718s need more work to rebase and I don't have a dw9718s to test it
<barni2000[m]> i will check my devices maybe i have found 1 with that actuator
