<Mithrandir>
I restarted apache on gabe now, so the lists UI should be back.
<karolherbst>
Mithrandir: what's weird on gabe is that in top you'll see the driver subscribe thing a lot. I was wondering if it's some bots trying to subscribe or something?
<karolherbst>
or is that something else
<Mithrandir>
karolherbst: I'd expect it to be scrapers on the archives.
<Mithrandir>
without really having looked
<karolherbst>
right.. but it's been going on since yesterday, so I was wondering if we now get tons of fake subscriptions and the server will tank when sending out emails or something
<karolherbst>
anyway
<karolherbst>
lists is slow again :D
<karolherbst>
though better than yesterday, but still significant delay sometimes
<karolherbst>
and when it's slow I also see a lot of the driver subscribe stuff
<karolherbst>
mhh listinfo also
<karolherbst>
maybe the scrappers just call subscribe without an email and it's just causing load...
<karolherbst>
but anyway, I can check out the logs. Just curious what's going on there and if we need to set up bot protection there

<Mithrandir>
we probably need bot protection everywhere.
<karolherbst>
yeah... just I also understand not wanting to touch gabe more than needed...
<emersion>
i've set up a robots.txt with AI bot names on mailman3 and it helped a lot
<emersion>
100% CPU to 0%
<pq>
\o/
<emersion>
that leaves badly behaved bots, but oh well
<karolherbst>
ahh should probably do the same with mailman2 as well
<emersion>
mailman2 archives are just static files so i'm a little surprised
<karolherbst>
I've seen aactivity on the subscribe endpoint
