oh thank you, didn't even think to look there
<__tim>
This is fascinating, because it works just fine to send to this address from any other e-mail address I have, and I am sure I didn't typo it, I literally clicked on the address in the error message
<bentiss>
then not sure what is happening... I don't know where to look at on gabe unfortunately
<bentiss>
(nothing shows up in the journal of gabe)
<jrayhawk>
gstreamer.org. 86400 IN MX 50 mail.gstreamer.org.

I stand correccted: on gabe: Sep 02 08:30:39 gabe postfix/smtpd[19058]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from static.116.149.90.157.clients.your-server.de[157.90.149.116]: 550 5.1.1 <gitlab-merge-bot@gstreamer.org>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in local recipient table; from=<gitlab@gitlab.freedesktop.org> to=<gitlab-merge-bot@gstreamer.org> proto=ESMTP
<bentiss>
helo=<gitlab.freedesktop.org>
<bentiss>
that's a different IP :/
<bentiss>
(bbiab, got an errand to run)
<daniels>
I wonder if gstreamer.org is the one with a hardcoded nexthop address in gabe’s delivery table because IPv6 was broken
<__tim>
ah yes, just noticed that too on a nightly job elsewhere (runner gating)
<jrayhawk>
the problem is that postfix on gabe at one point was a valid final destination for gstreamer.org and has not been deconfigured for that
<__tim>
wow, that must've been like 20 years ago 😆
<__tim>
(we lost the domain and only recovered it a year or two ago)
<jrayhawk>
currently, gabe claims {lists,}.gstreamer.{org,net}, DNS only has MX records for lists.gstreamer.net and gstreamer.org pointing at mail.gstreamer.org, and no MX records for lists.gstreamer.org or gstreamer.net.
<jrayhawk>
I will just assume I should delete those on gabe, then.
<daniels>
valentine: oh lol, I wonder if CI_GATING_TOKEN expired
<daniels>
I won’t be able to look until late tonight though
