Tiny-dfr just connects a virtual keyboard. So, should be the same as getting a global keybinding that works in terminal too. (No idea how, but that thing should exist)

i figured out how to disable the P cores and pin the E cores to 600mhz. at full load and minimum brightness the laptop consumes ~2 watts

atomicthumbs: the exact keys that it sends are configurable, you can put whatever you want as the media key layer (or even the function layer), as long as the action you want is a key press

it is a surprisingly complex problem, which is why there is no support in tiny-dfr for that. For example - who are you running the command as?

root, apparently, because echoing anything into /sys/class/backlight/apple-panel-bl/brightness fails even with sudo. gotta be actual root
