<hexdump01> dcz[m]: ellyq: i had that new mt8196 lenovo chromebook for a short time, but gave it back as it is too expensive and it will take one or two more years until there will be useable mainline support for it in place
<hexdump01> but its a really nice and fast device - performance seems to get close to snapdragon x1 plus - so definitely may faster than any arm chromebook before
<hexdump01> in case someone else wants to play around with such a device i created a velvet-os/debian image with a chromeos kernel for it, so that its easy to get started running some linux on it - https://github.com/velvet-os/imagebuilder/tree/main/systems/chromebook_rauru
<hexdump01> that image i tested to boot properly into (unaccelerated) x11
<dcz[m]> what does "useable" mean?
<dcz[m]> I'm not interested in that laptop (too big) but I'd like something fast
