<DavidHeidelberg> I haven't started bisecting the next-202511xx yet for the display panel bug, but for the framebuffer change, I sent RFC patch and I would love to hear your comments

<Daniel9881[m]> hello, does anybody know what is atleast needed to get to graphical interface? i can boot a standard alarm rootfs to tty just fine, however if i install any DE, at the end it just says "[OK] Reached target Graphical Interface" and then afterwards nothing happens.
<Daniel9881[m]> device is xiaomi-venus, sm8350
<DavidHeidelberg> first, consult the dmesg log for errors related to DRM / GPU, then try systemctl start gdm (or your login manager)
<Daniel9881[m]> DavidHeidelberg: do i need panel driver for it to work? i attempted generating one, however ended up with a black screen

<konradybcio> it may be that your mesa install doesn't have sw rendering enabled
<aklimov> any ideas where to look if I intermittently-often have "mdss_gdsc status stuck at 'on'" or off further leading to display subsystem not initialising
<aklimov> after looking at 172320f5ead5d1a0eed14472ce84146221c75675 i tried increasing timeouts in drivers/clk/qcom/gdsc.c but it didn't help, maybe rate of sucessfull boots increased a little bit after that
<aklimov> that's on sc8180x flex
