<valpackett> oh, no, suspend is "failing" for some other reason (no explanation even with `pm_debug_messages`) it seems, with ath12k blocked from loading it's still the "deep suspend bounces back instantly" thing that was discussed a couple times
<valpackett> ath12k thing happens with s2idle as well tho
<valpackett> and it does not init after a manual power cycle due to "failed to send QMI message"

<penguin42[m]> ChrisN812: I see Jens added one for a Omnibook 5 last week, I don't see 3 explicitly mentioned anywhere; Jens Glathe
<ChrisN812> Thanks. I'll check it out. Not sure the diff between 3 and 5
<ChrisN812> Looks like same cpu at least Snapdragon X X1-26-100
<JensGlathe[m]> From the hwinfo and dsdt I haven’t really seen a difference, a bit out of things to try.
<ChrisN812> The ironic thing is it's the only laptop in my house that has windows on it. Don't mind windows, but would love to not have to use it versus the good life.

<notHorseface> why is my thing a symbolic link to some other thing?
<notHorseface> eg. X1E80100-HP-OMNIBOOK-X14-tplg.bin.zst -> ../../X1E80100-Romulus-tplg.bin.zst
<notHorseface> ..?
<notHorseface> when I have this file, also ...
<HarrisonVanderbyl[m]> might be cause they have the same audio architecture
<notHorseface> oh never mind that is jsut another symbolic link to it.
<notHorseface> X1E80100-HP-OMNIBOOK-X14-tplg.bin.zst -> hp/omnibook-x14/X1E80100-HP-OMNIBOOK-X14-tplg.bin.zst
<notHorseface> oh I see...
<notHorseface> shit. guise...
<HarrisonVanderbyl[m]> does the audio work?
<notHorseface> do I need to reinstall windows to be capable to updating the firmware?
<notHorseface> nope
<notHorseface> lol not the onboard-speakers...
<notHorseface> or the microphone.
<notHorseface> BUT; the auxiliary output, that works.
<notHorseface> :-/
<notHorseface> but is it worthwhile for me to reinstall windows to update the firmware?
<notHorseface> or should I just wait..?
<HarrisonVanderbyl[m]> Audio is a headache
<HarrisonVanderbyl[m]> worth checking journalctl
<HarrisonVanderbyl[m]> might be something obvs
<HarrisonVanderbyl[m]> the tplg stuff is a side gig
<HarrisonVanderbyl[m]> you can compile it yourself
<notHorseface> I see...
<notHorseface> hmm
<notHorseface> but would I be better off to install windows, and extract the relevant firmware files, and update the firmware and all, and then reinstall linux again?
<HarrisonVanderbyl[m]> audioreach-topology and alsa-ucm-conf are the ones you want, you can install those locally
<HarrisonVanderbyl[m]> not for audio
<notHorseface> to get my camera, and microphoneandthings working..?
<notHorseface> I see...
<notHorseface> where may I obtain these files?
<notHorseface> please...
<notHorseface> audioreach-topology and the other..?
<HarrisonVanderbyl[m]> microphone and audio, your better off tinkering with https://github.com/alsa-project/alsa-ucm-conf and https://github.com/linux-msm/audioreach-topology
<notHorseface> oh !
<notHorseface> it is a package, I see...
<notHorseface> they are both installed.
<notHorseface> heh
<notHorseface> :-(
<HarrisonVanderbyl[m]> Camera support is still waiting on some linux-media stuff to upstream, you can get it working by adding some patches and running a custom linux kernel, but may need to wait
<notHorseface> extra/alsa-topology-conf 1.2.5.1-4 [installed]
<notHorseface> extra/alsa-ucm-conf 1.2.16.1-1 [installed]
<notHorseface> oh I see...
