It seems I'm at a point I need to reinstall my x13s. I downloaded the iso from fedora and tried to boot, but it stops at a black screen after grub. So I still need to change the grub boot parameters to boot the ISO?

Hrm, adding clk_ignore_unused pd_ignore_unused arm64.nopauth efi=noruntime from Johann's wiki got further. I suspect it's the efi=noruntime. That controls reading the dtb I think?

noruntime is forbidding linux from using uefi functions to like poweroff/reboot/get efivars

fwiw fedora's involvement with flatpaks is also concerning, but it's more a case of "why are you spending effort on this", ubuntu is basically not usable without snap so yeah that's annoying

You need to be able to manage and sustain such a thing. It's a bit of a dilemma IMO. I would love to just do pop-os, but it would make my hobby even harder

I just don't like companies that push AI, like Canonical. It looks like their AI policy is sane, but I'd prefer all that energy/time/money used with something else

but yeah, my biggest dislike is how Ubuntu replaces things that are available in Debian with their own snap packages if you just blindly apt install things; if I wanted snaps I'd install them with snap
